Zynga, the developer behind FarmVille, introduces its inaugural Web3 game: Sugartown.

Zynga, the mobile gaming giant, has announced plans to release its first web3 game called Sugartown. Zynga is the gaming firm behind the blockbuster game Farmville.

Sugartown will be the first new Web3 game with an original IP by a major mobile game developer.According to Zynga, its ambition is to empower players through a sustainable Web3 platform full of fun and enduring games.

Sugartown will be created to appeal to a native Web3 market but with the ambition of scaling much wider over time. The debut of the game will allow players to mint Oras, which are required to participate in the game’s free-to-play mini-games.

Thus, players will use their ERC-721 Ora token as proof of ownership to gain entry. By staking Oras, players can earn energy, which can then be used to play Sugartown games and earn Sugar, the in-game currency used to unlock rewards.

Amazon Prime Joins Forces with Mojo Melee for Exclusive NFT Giveaway

Amazon’s long-anticipated in-house NFT marketplace is still on hold, but the company is making strides with NFTs in a partnership with the game Mojo Melee. While the marketplace’s launch remains pending, Amazon Prime subscribers can now receive free tokens for the Polygon-based game.

Amazon Prime subscribers who create a Mojo Melee account are eligible for this promotion, offering an NFT champion named Gwyn Rockhopper and 850 units of the game’s non-tradable currency, ORE.

Unlike standard in-game items, these NFTs are accessible instantly, removing the need to reach a certain level within the game.

Reddit’s Sneaky NFT Success on Polygon’s Layer-2: 20 Million Strong

Reddit’s layer-2 network Polygon has quietly seen its non-fungible tokens (NFTs) exceed 20 million in number. Dune Analytics reveals that 20,323,749 collectible avatars have been minted since the project’s launch in July 2022, now held by 16,361,793 holders.

The number of holders surged by a staggering 118,074% between August 13, 2022, and August 13, 2023, with over 14 million being single avatar holders. The collective sales volume of Reddit Collectible Avatars NFTs is close to $40.6 million, and their market capitalization rests just below $38.8 million, with a primary sales volume of $6.48 million.

Moreover, the recently launched Gen 4, dubbed ‘Retro Reimagined,’ constitutes the largest addition to Reddit’s limited-edition NFT collection. To date, 39,978 Gen 4 avatars have been minted by 12,753 minters, held by 12,765 holders. Primary sales volume stands at $845,210, with 4,015 secondary sales recorded.

On the other hand, Generation 3 has achieved a cumulative sales volume of slightly over $3.41 million. This phase saw 35,090 total sales, minting 9.37 million Gen 3 avatars, 41,684 holders, and 23,825 single avatar holders.

Polygon founder Sandeep Nailwal noted that products in its ecosystem, including Reddit Avatars, are discreetly reaching “magic inflection points” of growth in response to these recent figures.

“nd4.eth”: Mysterious Crypto User Burns $8 Million in Cryptocurrency and NFTs

An enigmatic crypto user “nd4.eth” has caught the spotlight by inexplicably “burning” around $8 million worth of cryptocurrency and high-value blue-chip NFTs. This puzzling act has left the crypto and NFT communities both baffled and intensely curious.

In this mysterious move, the anonymous trader obliterated $3.3 million worth of crypto tokens GMX and GNS, along with several pricey NFTs. This followed another perplexing occurrence just days earlier, where approximately $4.5 million in assets (about 2,500 ETH at the time) were similarly burned, devoid of any explanation.

Among the tokens, numerous high-value NFTs were also consigned to oblivion. These included items from Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), three Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) NFTs, and the sought-after CryptoPunk #5237. Considering the current floor prices of these NFT projects, the collective value was estimated to be around $225,000 (or 122 ETH).

This peculiar conduct in both instances, however, did not involve a sale or transfer. Instead, these assets were directed to a designated wallet address that remains ownerless and inaccessible, effectively eliminating these resources from circulation, untouched and unreachable for all time.

Toyota Australia’s GR-ID Program for GR Yaris Rallye Owners

Toyota Australia has rolled out a novel Web3 and non-fungible token (NFT) initiative tailored for GR Yaris Rallye owners, named GR-ID. This program introduces a range of perks for NFT holders, including a $50 VISA Digital gift card, the chance to evolve their NFT design, and exclusive access to events.

Minted on the advanced Immutable X layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum blockchain NFTs, GR-ID NFTs are offered at no cost to eligible participants. The quantity of NFTs in the collection will be based on the minting during the designated phase. The holders can also customize their NFT appearance with decals, stickers, and accessories.

Beyond initial benefits, GR-ID NFT holders can earn additional rewards by participating in activities like driving their GR Yaris Rallye, completing challenges, and referring friends. Toyota plans to continuously introduce fresh rewards to the GR-ID program.

Kuroro Beast Brawl Season 2 Brings $15k in Prizes and Faction Fun

Trudan Studios, the creators of the free-to-play turn-based PvP game, Kuroro Beast Brawl, in partnership with decentralized gaming publisher Treasure, have announced the launch of Season 2 of early access with over $15k in prizes.

Referred to as both Season 2 of early access and an open alpha on the Kuroro Beasts gaming ecosystem’s official website, this version enables players to engage in turn-based PvP gameplay via web browsers.

Access requires logging in with a Discord account and being part of the Kuroro Beasts official Discord server.

The current season emphasizes Factions, introducing three new features: Faction Contest, Faction Abilities, and Faction Leaders.
